ICBD message and poster, prepared by the Latvian artists, opens the present issue of RUBINAITIS. The next captions consists of three surveys of books published in 2017. Džiuljeta Maskuliūnienė takes pleasure to analyse interesting and well-written realistic novels, short stories and especially “Siberian haiku”, which is combination of comic book, graphic novel and literary story. Gražina Skabeikytė-Kazlauskienė systematises and discusses literary fairy tales and fantasies. Lina Buividavičiūtė found only three prized books of poetry and characterizes them. Jolita Liškevičienė presents just published book about the Lithuanian patriarch Jonas Basanavičius, which was written and illustrated by Monika Vaicenavičienė. Eglė Baliutavičiūtė interviews famous actor, painter and author of children and YA literature Kristina Gudonytė in the caption READINGS OF MY CHILDHOOD. The 90th birthday anniversary of the famous translator of Swedish literature Eugenija Stravinskienė (1928–2004) we commemorate this spring. Asta Gustaitienė appreciates her merits for children’s literature, emphasizing translations of books by Astrid Lindgren. And daughter of the translator Eglė Bloznelienė gives very warm and sincere remembrance about mother. BIBLIOGRAPHY and CHRONICLES are prepared by Roma Kišūnaitė.
