ICBD message written by Jan Uličiansky opens the present issue of RUBINAITIS. The most important aim of the issue is to observe new books for children published in Lithuania in 2005. Roma Kišūnaitė traditionally compiled BIBLIOGRAPHY of new books and the section includes approximately 500 titles. Džiuljeta Maskuliūnienė analises new prose books of the Lithuanian authors, and she states there were some quite interesting and important titles. But Neringa Mikalauskienė, who observes poetry, is very dissapointed about the situation of the genre.

Kęstutis Urba observes his creation for children, Vilnius university student Bernadeta Bumblauskaitė tries to analyse King-characters in Dovydėnas‘ literary fairy tales, and Jonas Dovydėnas tells, what he remembers about his father.
Loreta Jakonytė reviews new book for young adults by Vytautė Žilinskaitė, and Jurgita Brasiūnaitė, who also is Vilnius university student, presents just translated into Lithuanian „The Faraway Tree stories“ by Enid Blyton.
