SUMMARY
Three publications of the issue are concerned with new books published in 2018. Non-fiction literature for children was rather creative and inventive, Vilija Dailidienė analyses some works of the field. Dalia Karatajienė discusses diversity and quality of new illustrations. She rejoices over professionality of many young artists. Sixteen books were nominated by publishers for Awards in two categories – the best translation for Children and for Young adults. Urtė Vaserienė comments and values almost all of them. Four schoolteachers consider modern reception of works for children by the prominent Lithuanian writer Jonas Biliūnas (1879–1907), the caption CONVERSATION is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the author. Young artist Marius Zavadskis is our quest in the column READINGS OF MY CHILDHOOD, he answered to Inga Mitunevičiūtė’s questions and illustrated the answers. “Le roman d’Ernest et Célestine” by Daniel Pennac is reviewed by Kęstutis Urba, and Acceptance speech by Andersen Award winner Eiko Kadono is presented in WE INTRODUCE section. Roma Kišūnaitė prepared BIBLIOGRAPHY of critical publications about Children’s literature and reading, as well as CHRONICLE and INFORMATION section.
