SUMMARY
The Introductory by Kęstutis Urba is organized as conversation with “the Father of the Lithuanian Children’s Literature” Pranas Mašiotas and it concerns Children’s literature situation in nowadays. (Mašiotas’ 140th anniversary was celebrated in this December.) The Articles section is filled up by young researches. Vilnius university student Birutė Gribauskaitė analyses classical fantasy for children “Once upon a Time” by Vytautas Tamulaitis from the semiotic point of view. Kaunas Vytautas Magnus university MA student Jurgita Macijauskaitė searches for mythopoetic parallels in “The Little Prince” by A. de Saint-Exupery and “A Journey to Tandadrika” by Vytautė Žilinskaitė. Young author of books for children Vytautas V. Landsbergis expresses his attitudes towards the differences between books for children and for adults. The watershed is very relative, states the author.
Doctor of Humanities Loreta Žvironaitė carefully analyses poetry by the prominent writer Violeta Palčinskaitė. The publication is dedicated to the 60th birthday anniversary of the poet. While Kęstutis Urba presents The Borrowers-series by Mary Norton. In spite of that the only one book is translated into Lithuanian still, the 100th anniversary of Norton is so important, reasons the article Kęstutis Urba.
