SUMMARY
This issue of RUBINAITIS is extraordinary, its number is 50! That’s why even two Introductories open the issue. Kęstutis Urba shortly considers the importance of the magazine in the first, and the next Introductory was replaced with the acceptance speech by Gendrutis Morkūnas, who was awarded for the best book for children published in 2008.
Prof. Torben Weinreich kindly allowed to publish his paper “History and Children’s Literature” from the 31st IBBY Congress. Vilija Dailidienė presents some best translations for young readers, and Ingrida Korsakaitė professionally analyses illustrations by the famous artist Stasys Eidrigevičius, who celebrates his 60th anniversary this summer.
New caption QUESTIONNAIRE starts in the issue: some well-known specialists in folklore answer to the questions about modern publications of folk tales for children. Gendrutis Morkūnas is questionnaired by Kęstutis Urba (caption BOOKS OF MY CHILDHOOD) and tells about his childhood, what he read and how and why he began to write children and juvenile books.
Teacher Rita Čypienė and librarian Danutė Ratinskienė from remote country school in Grūžiai takes part in DISCUSSIONS about nowadays schoolchildren‘s attitudes towards reading. LETTERS, BIBLIOGRAPHY, CHRONICLES are continual and traditional captions of the magazine.
