SUMMARY

 

The author Vytautas V. Landsbergis and illustrator Sigutė Ach created the best book for children in 2004 Dominykas the Horse in Love. The Award was given on the 2nd of April, and then the creators talked about Children‘s literature and their own mission. The dialog was headed “Longing for Perfection” and used as the Introduction of the present issue of RUBINAITIS.

The 90th anniversary of the prominent writer for children, translator and publisher Aldona Liobytė was commemorated in February, and now one chapter of the magazine was dedicated to this occasion. Kęstutis Urba discusses the whole literary heritage of Liobytė, Džiuljeta Maskuliūnienė analyses one short story by the author and Ingė Lukšaitė, who knew “Aunt Aldona” in childhood, discusses her personality.

Doctor of Humanities, expert of drama, Vilnius university teather Petronėlė Česnulevičiūtė just celebrated her 80th anniversary, and was asked to tell about her childhood, the books she read at home, in primary school and gymnasium, the experience of being school teather in postwar Lithuania. The interview for the caption Books of my Childhood was prepared by Kęstutis Urba.

Four books are reviewed in Reviews section. Bibliography of literary criticism of the last year was compiled by Roma Kišūnaitė. Ona Kaladienė presented the “Top5” of young readers and also selected for publication some letters of them.
