SUMMARY
The novel Rebeca’s Islands by Renata Šerelytė was awarded as the best book for Young readers of the last year. Acceptance speech of the author opens the present issue of the magazine. SURVEYS section includes two publications: Eglė Baliutavičiūtė discusses the most important translations for children and YA published in 2014 and Dalia Karatajienė analyses new works by the Lithuanian illustrators. Professor Džiuljeta Maskuliūnienė commemorates the 170th anniversary by the Lithuanian writer Žemaitė and analyses her stories for and about children. The quest of the caption READINGS OF MY CHILDHOOD is illustrator Jūratė Račinskaitė, who answers to Asta SkujytėRazmienė’s questions. Three just translated books are reviewed in the REVIEWS section: Loreta Jakonytė writes about The school of incorrect life by the Latvian author Maira Dobele, Gintarė Adomaitytė considers about Number the stars by Lois Lowry and Vytautas Varanius debuts in the magazine as reviewer of Glasbarnen by the Swedish author Kristina Ohlsson. Reda Tamulienė and Inga Mitunevičiūtė presents the most popular books children and teenagers read during the last year, and Roma Kišūnaitė traditionally prepared BIBLIOGRAPHY and CHRONICLES sections.
