SUMMARY
The “Articles” section starts with Genovaitė Raguotienėʼs publication “What does Childrenʼs Literature mean?” in which she observes the attitudes towards Childrenʼs Literature subject of the Lithuanian authors and literary men during the lst half of the 20th century. Marija Nikolajeva introduces with the works by the new winner of the H. C. Andersen Award – Katherine Paterson. Kęstutis Urba presents Beatrk Potterʼs phenomenon – her books were just published in Lithuania for the first time.
Two publications are devoted to the 120th birth anniversary of Janusz Korczak and are contributed by the Polish scholars Józef Zbigniew Białek and Jolanta Ługowska. The passage from “Kajtuś the Wizard” by J. Korzcak follows the articles.
The traditional section “Books of My Childhood” contains an interview of Elona Varnauskienė with the writer Vanda Juknaitė.
Five new books by Jonas Avyžius, Sigitas Poškus, Petras Venclovas, Marija Nikolajeva and Eleonor H. Porter are discussed in the section “At a Closer Look”.
The last section “Letters” is linked with the first artiele of the present issue of “Rubinaitis”: the contemporary Childrenʼs Literature teachers answer to the ąuestion “What does it mean: Good Book for Children?”
