SUMMARY

Kęstutis Urba in the INTRODUCTORY ruminates over the wonderful IBBY members’ summer trip to Sweden, especially over „Astrid Lindgren world“ in Vimerby and questions, if it would be possible to imagine something similar in Lithuania. Two young authors make their debut in the ARTICLES section. Guoda Rudnickaitė surveys all illustrations of one popular Lithuanian fairy tale „Sister, the seeker of Nine Brothers“ and Gerda Aleksiūnaitė presents rather forgotten children’s author Albinas Andrulionis. Very impressive memoirs about childhood and books by well known teacher of literature Laima Abraitytė fill the division READING OF MY CHILDHOOD. Antanas Šimkus enthusiastically reviews „Absolutely True Diary of Par-time Indian“ by Alexie Sherman, and Aleksandra Strelcova presents another new translation into Lithuanian „The Graveyard Book“ by Neil Gaiman. The LETTERS section deals with some impressions about children’s culture in Sweden, and also school librarians and one teacher from Panevėžys gymnasium „Mintis“ share their experience of promoting of YA books. List of future anniversaries as well as CHRONICLE of the last events are prepared by Roma Kišūnaitė.
