SUMMARY

ICBD message is traditional opening publication of the first number of „Rubinaitis“ each year. The caption SURVEYS also is rather traditional, new books for Young readers published during previous year in Lithuania are discussed in the articles. Loreta Žvironaitė regrets there were not many innovative Literary Fairy Tales and Fantasy books published last year. Nevertheless there were some very good books of the genre. Loreta Jakonytė counted 7 so called realistic books and 17 books of nonfiction. The latter group is much more impressive, states the observer. A lot of poetry books will be included in Bibliographical List 2012, but only 3 of them deserved positive evaluation of the young analyst Marius Burokas. All reviews in the section AT A CLOSER LOOK have won Competition of books reviews organised at the end of 2012, and they are about works by Kristina Gudonytė, Nomeda Marčėnaitė and Kęstutis Kasparavičius. Alma Valantinienė prepared the section READINGS OF MY CHILDHOOD, i. e. interviewed famous singer Sigutė Trimakaitė about books she read as a child, what her daughter reads etc. Aldona Ruseckaitė and Zita Gaižauskaitė refresh their memories about the outstanding children’s poet Martynas Vainilaitis. The caption ANNIVERSARIES is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the late poet. BIBLIOGRAPHY and CHRONICLES are prepared by Roma Kišūnaitė as always.
