SUMMARY
Traditional INTRODUCTION in this issue was replaced with essay “Request for Adults” by Milan Rúfus, in which child’s imagination is celebrated. It was translated and proposed for our magazine by the famous children’s author Vytautė Žilinskaitė. Eglė Baliutavičiūtė analyses Unė Kaunaitė’s novel “Goodbye, Morrow” and Fanuel Diaz from Columbia shortly discusses importance of Picture-books genre in ARTICLES section. Three publications are dedicated to the 150th anniversary of “Alice in Wonderland” by Carroll. I.e. Agnė Zolubienė after short introduction of the book analyses the second, rather new, translation of the book into Lithuanian. Sisko Ylimartimo from Finland donated her article about John Tenniel. His life and works were almost unknown for our readers. The new edition of “Alice” in Lithuania was published with Robert Ingpen’s illustrations. Eglė Devižytė shares her impressions and analyses those illustrations. Interview with popular illustrator Sigutė Ach filled the caption READINGS OF MY CHILDHOOD. Bronius Maskuliūnas commemorates 80th anniversary of linguist and author Jonas Šukys. “Groznovilca v Hudi hosti” by Jana Bauer and “One boy and his dog” by Eva Ibbotson are reviewed in REVIEWS section.
