Music for Troll by Violeta Palčinskaitė was recognised as the best book for children published in 2011, author‘s award acceptance speach opens the present issue of RUBINAITIS. Two REVIEWS also deals with books of 2011: Jolita Liškevičienė analyses new illustrations by the Lithuanian artists and Antanas Šimkus characterises some important translations for children and YA. Loreta Žvironaitė discusses literary fairy tales by Jonas Avyžius (1922–1999), the article is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the author.
