Books help us not to be in a hurry“, states Kęstutis Kasparavičius, the author of the best book of the 2005, in his poetic award acceptance speech. The speech opens the present issue of RUBINAITIS.

The „Articles“ section contains 4 publications. Vilija Dailidienė observes the most important translations for young readers published in 2005, and Dalia Černiauskaitė discusses the popularity of Melvin Burgess. Then again Vilija Dailidienė considers, why and what her pupils read and what they like to read. Danutė Miknevičienė, who is school librarian, analysed the same question with pupils of Alizava basic school in countryside of Lithuania.

Birutė Jonuškaitė, modern and popular Lithuanian writer, is the quest of the caption „Books of my Childhood“. She answered to Gintarė Adomaitytė‘s questions. Short tale by Kęstutis Kasparavičius is proposed to read together with children (Let‘s Read Together, Mother, Father!“).
