SUMMARY
Kęstutis Urba writes about Wisdom of children‘s literature in the Introductory and reminds some highly sensible books, starting with „Momo“ by Michael Ende. Serpil Ural from Turkey talked about Ideal world and children’s literature at the 30th IBBY Congress in Maccau and donated her paper to our magazin. (A lot of thanks!) Laima Arnatkevičiūtė analyses three books for YA on the theme of violence. One caption of the issue is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Astrid Lindgren. Her Andersen award Acceptance speech is translated into Lithuanian only now, and some essays of her readers are published under the caption as well. Also, the Lithuanian readers can read at last the Tale about Giant Bambam and Fairy Viribunda, which inspired young Astrid Ericsson so much. (The caption Let‘s read together, Mother, Father!) Quondam artist, theater critic, TV and radio announcer, teacher Danutė Rutkutė is interviewed by Alma Valantinienė and Kęstutis Urba (the caption Books of my childhood). School librarian Danutė Miknevičienė and teacher Jūratė Kuliukienė from Alizava‘s Basic school continue the discussion „Do they read or don‘t read“. Three new books are reviewed in the Reviews section.
