“How to become children’s author?” is the title of INTRODUCTORY. Editor-in-chief of the magazine worries over lack of new young writers for children in Lithuania. ARTICLES section contains four publications. Kęstutis Urba analyses trend of hybridization of two literary modes, realism and fantasy, in some works by Gendrutis Morkūnas and Rimantas Černiauskas. Dalia Karatajienė observes illustrations of Vytautė Žilinskaitė’s literary works by different artists and seeks for common features in them. Carla Poesio (Italy) presents two books by Angela Nanetti, and Rosemary Tisdall (New Zealand) donates her recommendations for the Lithuanian teachers, willing to introduce to children “Tales of Peter Rabbit” by Beatrix Potter. The guest of the section READINGS OF MY CHILDHOOD is Selemonas Paltanavičius, famous naturalist and children’s author. Kęstutis Urba reviews new translation of “Jungle Books” by Kipling, Guoda Rudnickaitė reviews “Tomcat on Roller-skate” by Slovak author Jan Uličiansky and Eugenijus Civilka discusses new book “But you promised” by Laima Vincė in the section AT A CLOSER LOOK. Nami Island (or rather Naminara) in South Korea is presented in the section WE PRESENT, and the story “Crackling Stars” by Gendrutis Morkūnas written for Naminara Peace story project and presented at NAMBOOK-10 festival, covers the caption LET’S READ TOGETHER, MOTHER, FATHER! LETTERS and CHRONICLES are permanent section of “Rubinaitis” as well.
